Hi gang. Well ive been and bought a 53 plate Vectra 2.2 CHEAP!! I may (have) to sell my old faithfull P reg one. Its a 1.6 Premier thingy.....body wise its ok apart from the rear arches.

MOT until Feb !4 Disabled tax so it will have to go back to the Doovla.

Its been really reliable over the last 10k that ive done in it.

BAD STUFF

Needs new shocks and springs on the rear DESPARATELY. It clunks and clanks and handles pretty poor like.

Handbrake is crap.....it will hold. SOMETIMES.

Somtimes puffs a bit of smoke out when its hot......not bad though.

GOOD STUFF

Long MOT

MEGA reliable

Really clean inside.....i'm fussy that way.lol

New exhaust from the cat back 3 weeks ago.

Even still has its original dealer number plates/rear window sticker and wait for it........tax disc holder.

Last owners had it since 2004ish and did around 1200 miles a year in it. (its on 104k total)

There will be things i've forgot about good and bad but thats me.lol.

I will say though i would jump in this car and drive and drive and drive.....it will get you there!

Money wise? MMMMMMMmm £250ish???

If you fancy a natter about it just P.M me. If nobody wants it then if anyone around Edinburgh has some car storage goimg spare then i'll keep her and do what it needs....slowly.lol.

The clanging will be the rose joints at the rear. Much cheaper to buy than the springs and dampers and less labour to change. Piece of piss to change with the windy tool and a wee chap from a hammer along the way.

This looks a good old barge and also a bargain. The 8v's are unburstable, just about.

Thanks Ian. I've decided that i'm going to keep the old girl. Nobody seems to want it and if i'm honest the 53plate one that was going to replace it do's not seem to give me the same "I will take you anywhere and not break down" feeling.

I'm going to see if I can find somewhere to store and work on it as its needing a fair old bit of work.............not a problem really (other than money.lol) as I have the other one to jump around in. I really think it deserves a second chance after being so reliable.........also my pals 75 year old Mother who had it before me will kick my head in if I scrapped it.lol.

I had a reply to this topic off cortinadave about a guy over in Fife who is cheap for the bodywork stuff but it seems to have got lost in the change over.

I'm also thinking it will keep me occupied as I cant work at the moment due to BAD diabetes and i'm climbing the walls.lol.
