Xantia, good news at last MOT PASS.

The Xantia went in for it's MOT and failed on headlight alignment and a corroded suspension pipe at the rear. The tester cleaned up the pipe and covered it with grease, realigned the headlights and issued a pass. YAY!

However, 008 of the MOT advisories was a little odd.

As was the receipt for the work done.

What's headlamp fluid then?

Any opinions??

Well, "uprite" isn't a word, but it's alluding to the reserve travel on the parking brake lever, as a way of "covering his arse" if the armrest gets in the way of the lever during normal use, it will certainly get in the way if adjustment is required. Just basically to prove that he checked this before adding the advice.

More to the point what's a Citoroen? They must be the most commonly mis-spelt car name out there.

Excellent, hoping my 'new garage' is going to fix and MOT my battle bus sinker finally...

Yes, but they're all about how terrible their letterhead is.

Is the handbrake mechanism the same as the BX? Give the brake pedal a good firm shove and the handbrake should be tighter next time you use it. After that, it'll be back to being about eleventy clicks again.

No Idea about BX handbrakes, but these operate the front callipers. There does seem to be some adjustment to be had though.

Probably the same then. You can adjust the cables, but the caliper should self-adjust. When I fitted new pads to the BX this morning, then gave the pedal a shove before connecting the handbrake cables up, I had a handbrake just like a normal car. It was quite disconcerting. It lasted all of about five minutes.
