So...It rained, a bit!

Biblical Deluge, across the N of E, thismorning.

I had a call at Tesco, Hartlepool. Their bottom carpark was 'kayak equipped'.

Radio said A19 was awash so no go home.... I went across country to Durham/Ch-le-Street.

Most roads were awash with runoff, from fields. Couple of 'dead' motors crocked on yon side of pools...

Some people just don't give a..... Yeti ploughed against me, in about 9", and rinsed the roof of my Caddy.

A guy in a Golf just blinded it, at around 50mph, in another 10" - aquad straight over, going a good bit slower on the other side :) - "Oh, look... a large plastic undertray has appeared in the pool...! oops!"

Run off is 'clean' - environmentally sayinn - however, at Barley Mow - Birtley - the iron drain lid was spouting a good 2ft and creating another lagoon.... I wouldn't want to bathe in it

All p00 n Wee... ughh

Stopped pretty much now...

I we drove through Barley Mow/Birtley this morning heading north trying to avoid the car park that was the A1.

Had the usual Audi invincible cock behind trying to bully has way but mine was bigger than his.

I once borrowed a Clove Brown D plate Metro, and during an absolute fucking deluge in Lincoln, I was driving along Monks Road, when the water coming off the "uphill" streets came out of the drain covers in a fountain...... lifted the car clean off the floor, probably only 6 inches, but felt like 10 feet.

Ha Ha!.... know that feeling

Had a good laugh mind, in one village - somewhere near the Herringtons - the Firebrigade were at the crossroads and - with a pump which could suck seamen out of a Uboat! - they were blasting water over into the field yonder...... Yellow man gives the old 'Howay lads' wave and it was like Aqualand, The Flume....

Its been a wet un.

Coast road was somehow not flooded though. Which was a Brucey bonus.

But I did see a shite-spec 14" wheeltrim being carried allong a gutter by enthusiastic surface run-off.

certainly did rain

this morning Lanchester was totally cut off and 2 foot deep in sewer water

there was a river of 'brown' water running down my street and the fields at the back of my house are one huge pond
