Mercedes slk question

Hi all, a quick question if thats ok.

A friend at work has just had her 2001 slk 320 serviced, amongst the various parts shes been charged for are 12 spark plugs at £9 each. Is the engine a twin spark or has she been ripped off ?

Cheers

I know the AMG version was twin spark, so I assume the stock 320 must be as well. Was it a MB dealer by any chance?

Cheers for that

she wasnt to happy at paying £108 for spark plugs, cant say that I would have been either really.

That's actually not bad for these fancy platinum plugs, I got charged about a hundred quid for a set for my (Four cylinder twinspark) Alfa 156 a few years ago.

They should last for years so long as the car runs right.

Plugs for my G40 were £19 each, some crazy platinum tipped ones.

Other than that, in 2002, I don't think I've ever replaced spark plugs in any of my cars. Ooops.

*reasonable against a TSpark 4 @ £ton.

8.

Hence 'TWIN spark'.

Still more than the £2 each I think spark plugs should cost.
