I found this for a mate last year who needed a cheap stop gap car, she has now bought herself a new motor and asked me if I wanted to buy it off her for £50......OH go on then and as the wifes first car was a clio I new it would score me brownie points :D

Here it is in all it's shiteness

It;s the 1.2 club med model with leccy windows but no pas. Needed a bit of fettling, the exhaust back box had split in half, brakes need attention, fan stopped working and it needs a good service & a clean (maybe).

So far I've bought:

second hand exhaust £20 Done

fan & housing £20 Done

New front discs & pads £20 Pending

New rear shoes £20 Pending

Hopefully get the brakes done this weekend and stick her in for an mot next week

I'm gonna have to do something about those wheels at some point as they look horrible, any ideas?

So after the mot & tax it looks more like a £300 motor but I reckon that still makes it a cheap enough motor.

Nowt wrong with the wheels in my opinion, after all its just a cheap runaround. And I do like the colour. I think you have had a result. :)

Even when the works done at £300 with T&T it's not expensive.

Whats the fitment on the wheels? I may have some spare that would fit. Failing that, ebay for some lovely* black steel wheels.

MOT - are you getting it done local or bringing it up to Lincs for a visit? If you came for a visit you could also get it on the ramps for a bit if theres anything else needs doing.

Looks like it would scrub up well at the local Kosovan Car Wash :)

What's the deal with the Saab 900? It looks sad :(

Don't know about the wheel fitment bro, it doesn't have mud tyres so I don't understand  I just think the wheels are too big, they are 16" and iirc they should be 14's on this, so with no pas it makes it quite heavy at parking speeds which could be an issue for Sarah.

Shane is doing the mot for us but we'll come up soon and get it up on the lift for a good poke around.

We've started calling it the £20 car as every part I've bought so far has cost £20 and guess how much her insurance is per month..........yep £20.

The Saab belongs to a mate, he's stripping it for parts as he's got 2 others that are rolling resto's and that was the worst of them all so it became the donor. Would like it gone out of the way though as that spot is reserved for a pikey wagon I have acquired for the bargain price of feck all

Renault Clio 4 x 100 et38 c/b 60

I've loads of 4x100 wheels, but they're VW, so won't fit due to smaller c/b. Get on ebay for some cheap steels with decent tyres on them, depending on where they are I may be able to collect them for you ;)

Win! And enjoy the free shower in the mornings when hitting the first few corners after a night of rain - it's refreshing :P

I'm driving one a few days a week at the moment. Great little cars, I'd have it over a Citroen C1 any day.

No fear on that one, there is enough silicone around the sunroof to ensure it will never leak again, or open for that matter.
