What about Billing Aquadrome in Northants?

 

Many will be familiar with the place as there are Vauxhall, Land Rover and NSRA meets there every year.  Not the best facilities in my opinion, but plenty of space and probably fairly quiet outside the school hols as long as there's not an event on.  Just pick a date and whoever fancies it can just rock up;  those allergic to canvas could even rent a caravan.  There's a leisure centre and amusements if anyone wants to bring family; a pub; and if the wind's in the right direction you can't even smell the sewage works up the road.

 

Slightly south-east of what I'd call the Midlands, but very easy to get to from the M1 (junction 15ish).

I've personally never been a fan of Billing, it just has something about it that I can't put my finger on.

 

Bubblecar would suit, I drove past there the other week on the way to King's Lynn.

I stopped there for one night and had to pay for three.

I won't be going back.

We could visit the Donington Collection (or not because its expensive).

I've had a quick look into possible venues for this but without much luck. Trying to hold an event at a public camp site - even a pub type one - is going to be very tricky during August. The benefit with Andy's gaff is that it was a field dedicated to our use.
