How much for a cambelt change?

Anyone work in a garage, or who can give me a rough guide for the cam belt and water pump on the missus meriva? Its way overdue, and sounding very Tickety. Never gets up to temperature, although the heaters are warm.

Was going to try it myself, but had a pay rise last month, so may farm it out for ease.

Cheers

All dependent on the specific engine fitted. Were you closer, I would be on this like a rat up a pipe.

Z16xe is the engine, fitted to astras and vector as of that vintage, although I imagine they have a lot more engine bay room. The engine mount has to be removed to do the job I read somewhere. Albert, if you were closer I'd let you look at my drainpipe! Yes, only a small payrise, as I can't be promoted as I'm the only one in the office who does what I Do, they gave me an industry standard. I'd love to be an map, 3 houses, no bills and £200 worth of dinner a night sounds good!

Yeah, they're all a mount off jobbie. Vauxhall Masterfit are advertising the job done for £200, using a genuine belt.... BUT.... I always recommend the full kit with tensioner and guide rollers (the ticking noise is these) and this will bump the price. Genuine parts are better... trust me on that one, I have seen some right crap in spurious boxes over the years. I can price up the parts for you tomorrow, and then that will give you an idea of the extortionate labout rates (about 2 hours is a safe time to get one done. Book time is less, but rushing around like an idiot is not good for accuracy)
