Gasmen dig trench around parked chod

While on my way to work I'd seen this piece of modern sh*te parked by the road. The gasmen prepared to dig and put flyers on the car asking for it to be moved. But it stayed put. After a few days they started to dig. After a few more days they just carried on and dug their trench around the car. OK, it may not be really obvious but if you look carefully you can see the trench veering out to the centre of the road to get round the chod.

Odd. Usually they can bung cars on those skate things and shove them out the way.

I suppose if it wasn't in the way of where they needed to dig the trench then they just worked around it - presumably utility pipe replacement so if the Laguna wasn't sat directly over whatever needed digging up then it was easy to just ignore it.

Entirely possible the owner had been trying to move it for several days.

Quite. If the pipe was actually beneath the car, then they'd have to move it, though as Peter says, that might be a challenge!

This happens regularly around my manor, but the council have the HIAB team on speed dial, and your car would be in the pound before you'd finished your morning cornflakes...
