Can anyone find Glass's/CAP valuations for me, please?

Morning! Father-in-law passed away on Saturday, and he has left 2 cars that none of the family wishes to take on. A local dealer in Devon has agreed to look at them, but we don't quite know the value of them. Could anyone have a look at roughly what price we should expect from a non-main dealer to buy them from us?

First one is a 51-plate Astra 1.7dti 16v estate with 163000 miles, MOT until September.

Second is a Fiat Seicento, X-reg, 900cc with 70000 miles and MOT until about October.

Hope you can help.

You have my deepest sympathies, not just for the loss of your wife's father but also for the world of pain you are about to enter selling off/giving away stuff that you have no use for. When my Father died just over a year ago there was a four year old Prius in the garage that had only done 7,000 miles but needed repairs to every panel except the roof. The second car next to it even had scratches on the roof which we put down to it having been driven through a barbed wire fence at some time.

Sorry to thread hijack, but if anyone's checking them can they also do a 2002 1.2 punto active with 26k on the clock?

Sorry to hear that M'Coli.

Here's some approximate valuations. I hope this helps. A trader will always low ball you so expect to be offered less than the trade price I'm showing below.

On the Astra Envoy, 2001 (51) trade price is around £400, Retail, £1300 ((what a seriously optimisitic garage would charge()

Seicento, 2000 on an X trade price is around £280, Retail price £750

Negative Creep, I put yours in as a 3 door (I don't know if it is). Trade, £750, Retail £1700

I always think CAP Retail is massively optimistic so if you add trade and retail together and divide by 2 I usually say it's what you should be selling it for privately,

In that case

Astra would be £850

Seicento would be £515

Punto: £1200

With older cars it's also what someone's prepared to pay so the book prices kinda go out the window a bit.

Thanks for that. It is the 3 door, and seemingly worth more than I expected!

Hi I sell cheaper cars for a living, them CAP trade prices are about what I would have to pay in the trade for them. You could put them in the auto trader for more and would sell them in a week or so. I find ebay a waste of time now as people bid on cars then never collect them.

Try Mr Bollox for the Astra.... He wants a van, but maybe an estate would fit the bill?

Edit. Already suggested.
