HillmanImp Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Even with the Maragonis fitted to the Cavalier, they probably made little difference to this morning's drive - wheelspin in 4th at 40mph on the A1M at a quarter past six, without giving it a bootful of throttle, just tickling it - was utterly, utterly scary. Twas a little icy wasn't it. I decided that it would have been a fruitless exercise trying to get the Audi down the drive as I would only have ended up embedded in the house across the road so decided to ride my bike. Got on the bike rode about 10yrds, fell off bike, got back on bike, rode 200 yrds, fell off bike, bike now fucked, went back ton the house, climbed slowly up drive, fell down drive, climbed slowly up drive, fell down drive, went v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y up drive into house, watched Minder had a cup of tea and some breakfast and went to work when it thawed. It was literally like an icerink but a shit one where you might get run over by an out of control car.
M'coli Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Aye! I was lucky, there were many who weren't. I decided no to go for the M62, and came off the A1M at the A63 having decided that it was going to be better to park up somewhere until the thaw arrived & be very late for work today but be able to make it in on time tomorrow, but as soon as I was on the A-roads (the bus routes) it was fine! As an added bonus, that diesel Pug 106 that I went to look at last week meant that I knew the roads around there that I needed to take - not a wasted journey, then.
