Hi everyone, i'm new! Posted July 27, 2008 Author Posted July 27, 2008 Now then..........can't help thinking your name will become incorrect fairly soon. Just an observation................That's the best bit! In 2 years time i could have hundreds of posts, and still bear this username!!
Hi everyone, i'm new! Posted July 27, 2008 Author Posted July 27, 2008 Mainly 70s and 80s British Leyland/Austin Rover stuff!!
Hi everyone, i'm new! Posted July 28, 2008 Author Posted July 28, 2008 Mini Clubman Estate (in pieces)Escort mk1 Mexico (in SERIOUS need of resto)and fingers crossed i should have a MG Maestro Tickford Turbo on the way!
mk2_craig Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 The Maestro Turbo is just about the zenith of hothatchshite, vying for top spot with the Abarth Strada. I'd like to see someone create a Maestro Turbo out of a late model shell, that Y-prefix job on Ebay would be perfick.
Hi everyone, i'm new! Posted July 28, 2008 Author Posted July 28, 2008 I'd like to see someone create a Maestro Turbo out of a late model shellWhy though? Essentially they are exactly the same shell apart from the later type shells having "metal bumpers" and the "metal bumper" type wings to allow them to fit. That IIRC would be the only panel you would have to change/modify to fit the turbo kit. (Apart from the obvious sideskirts, spoiler etc)They would be no different to the original 1989 version, apart from having a later plate (which admittedly would look cool i think, so if that is your reasoning fair enough!).There are (if you didn't know already) quite a few 51 Reg examples about too.
mk2_craig Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 No reason I guess! Apart from I think it would look hilarious parked up next to something like an Impreza with the same year letter on the plates.
Hi everyone, i'm new! Posted July 28, 2008 Author Posted July 28, 2008 No reason I guess! Apart from I think it would look hilarious parked up next to something like an Impreza with the same year letter on the plates.I see your point!Funniest thing is, it's faster than a 90s Impreza!! Might be quicker than the new model 0-60? - But i don't know the specs
Mr_Bo11ox Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Surely you would leave the bodykit off. 51 reg, 14" steel wheels and navy blue paint and so on.
Hi everyone, i'm new! Posted July 28, 2008 Author Posted July 28, 2008 Oh god no!!!If you are going down the Q-Car route it HAS to be Rattan Beige!
Mr_Bo11ox Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Yeah but you would possible get rumbled then would you not.... Was Rattan Beige a possibility on those late model jobs? They all seem to be dark blue or metallic cherry red.
Hi everyone, i'm new! Posted July 28, 2008 Author Posted July 28, 2008 No it wasn't a colour used that late.I wasn't on about using an early shell and putting later plates on (although personally if you own both vehicles i couldn't care less) i was thinking along the lines of respraying a later shell.
andrew e Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Your not the cock that crashed (and then wiped completely) www.macdroitwich.com is banned from www.austin-rover.co.uk (see 12th of June blog), and is despised in the montego community?Mr Oli South of leeds?AKA The JenskThe guy who stole Slammed 66's indentity?Afternoon

MrRegieRitmo Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 I like that so much I've just registered! Another I decided to register on this week (which considering this is the only forum I regularly frequent is quite an achievement!) was this one....http://forums.retrowheels.org/
andrew e Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Well I thank Mr Torsten for flogging Mr Average a SD1, call it SHITENAV
Milford Cubicle Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 What's with that 'Retro Wheels' forum, what's so retro about a mildly barried late model 306?
Mr Average Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Mr B and Reg I thin k you will like MacDroitwich
marinast Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Macdroitwich is the last outpost of the British Empire, alive and well on the CyberlandInterweb.
