Need a trustworthy mechanic south of London

K. I've had a plea for help from an old girlfriend. Its best I keep away (-for domestic harmony) but I'd still like to help -if I can.

 

Recently seperated, her 02 BM is now giving probs. There seems to be a battery drain, spurious oil leaks the mechanic cant find(?) and a potential power steering issue, (it needed topping up last week -for the first time). The car is unknown to me. It may be pristine -or a total shed. She has NO understanding of mechanical shite- and is very likely to get properly turned over.

Her mechanic,in Epsom, clearly hasnt a clue or doesnt want the work..

 

So anyone know a trustable spanner monkey, somewhere around Epsom to Worcester Park, competent on a 10yr old Beemer.

 

I'll persuade her to travel for a better diagnosis..

I know a decent bloke, only snag is he's in SE London. AV autos and his name is Ales - a Czech fella. Vauxhalls are his main thing but he's a courteous, diligent sort who's not likely to swindle her:

If it's any help, the faults are most likely to be -

the battery dying rather than extra drain - this is fairly common on BMWs, boot courtesy light staying on is another favorite.

and a leaking PAS pipe - would explain the oil leak and the oil loss in one go, they love to leak around the crimped joins on the pressure side of the system (not just bimmers, everything does this)

 

Either way, any half competant garage should be able to sort it quickly and reasonably cheaply.

Battery drain on this age of BMW are usually the heater fan staying on at a very low speed. A new "hedgehog" cures them.

I have experienced broken battery terminal clamps on the boot mounted batteries. New cables required....

Hey thans all -for the suggested diagnosis.

 

But -I'm not going near it -maritall harmony is more important. I need to find someone recomended, pref local -to sort it out -for beanz hopefully.
