The car has spent the last twenty years in a lockup in Cambuslang, the owner died and the car was left to the son who wasn't interested and left it in the lockup gathering dust. Last year the lockups were due to be demolished so the son asked the garage across the road if they'd take the old banger away. The garage tarted it up by painting the wheels but leaving overspray on the tyres and also replacing the clutch slave cylinder. It started and stopped OK so they flung it on ebay, I spotted it, told Mike/Nisfan and he went and bought it.

It has now been recommissioned and is being thoroughly enjoyed by its owner who's taken it to car shows etc.

Seeing as I own this car once again I thought I'd update the original thread. This afternoon I removed the timing belt cover and rocker cover to find that the cam belt had indeed snapped and one of the rocker arms has broken. I will need to source a rocker arm but Derskine kindly gave me a timing belt that he had bought and never fitted.

Hopefully it'll run again soon.

I'm going to repaint the car in its original colour and dig the original hubcaps out, we've all had our fun with it an now it feels right to return it to its former glory, included will be some maroon over spray on the bumpers and various matt panels to complete the original giffer spec look...

OK, so Panhard65 sent me some rockers and I replaced the broken one and fitted a new belt and here's the result.
