fairkens Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 Morning Autoshiters I've been lurking on here for a while and have owned quite a bit of shite over the years: 2x 80's nissan micrapeugeot 106 petrol and a dieselmondeo st200ford puma I'm now in the fortunate position to have a bit of excess garage space and I'm looking for a bikeshite project. I'd be interested to hear from you if you know of any MZ/Simson/CZ or puch/tomos zundapp etc basically anything Russian/Eastern European, also any 70s early 80s jap stuff, honda c90/cb125 etc that you know is going. Budget wise i'm looking at about £250 so not fussy about MOT/tax and happy to do work to get it up and running. Based in Leeds so anything nearby is a bonus but happy to travel. Cheers ps I might be able to clear a bit more garage space if anyone knows of a trabbie/similar within budget!
Junkman Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 Zündapp and Puch are gleefully Western European.
doug Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 z400j for £250 needs a little work (front brake is spongy despited bleeding it to death and when on choke wants to rev its nuts off) Its taxed and MOTed and nice and shiney. Oh and its 200 miles north of you. Interested?
Bobthebeard Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 A 1979/80 Yamaha V80 (step through) if you are interested? (V registered) In very/extremely good condition generally, Some old cracks in the front mudguard and leg shield have been previously repaired but will need painting if need be, but are solid enough to use as is. Blue and white, in original condition, 7000 miles from new with some history and lots of old MOTs, but has a couple of issues that need sorting for MOT. Mainly the rear wheel spindle has a partially stripped thread causing the wheel to move sideways in the swinging arm under Errrm, acceleration! It is the two stroke model with autolube and chain drive. Fairly rare but parts are usually available with a bit of searching. Is taxed until next June but Mot ran out in August. Starts/runs very well, gears all change fine. Does loads to the gallon and everything works. New tyres and a rebuilt and re spoked rear wheel. It stands me at around £300 but I have too many shite projects on the go now so yours for £250 if interested? Your post made me realise that I need the space etc.. Not touched the bike since August sadly.Am a fair distance away, however (Lytham) Will be happy to supply pics etc. Just ask.
fairkens Posted October 23, 2012 Author Posted October 23, 2012 Cheer Bob that sounds like the sort of thing I'm looking for, would you mind posting up a couple of pics? if it needs paint it might be the excuse i've been looking for to paint something entirely inappropriate porsche peppermint green! Cheers for the offer Doug but i think you're a bit too far from me
Bobthebeard Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Will post a few pics of the bike when I return home tomorrow evening (Wednesday)If that's ok.Cheers

fairkens Posted October 23, 2012 Author Posted October 23, 2012 yep more pics would be great deffo still interested! take back what i said about a respray, looks like a cracking colour scheme! Cheers
Bobthebeard Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 No probs, more detailed pics tomorrow. The paintwork is all fine, apart from one side of the leg shield and front mudguard. Damage due to a previous owner presumably dropping the bike or it blew over or something. The cracks are repaired and seem strong but are very visible! Hence the possible need for paint in those places.Cheers
fairkens Posted October 25, 2012 Author Posted October 25, 2012 Hopeful *bump* for more pics Congrats on getting the porsche back on the road, bob
