Why mess about trying to wreck someone else's 'for sale' thread when you could do the decent thing and STFU?

Which has what to do with this thread?

I think the price is pretty fair as it goes, the gearbox might last for quite a while yet and thus make the car a cheap little runabout for someone.

My disappointment was only that it wasn't an Aerodeck. I'd gladly cruise the mean streets of Aberystywth in a Proton. One of the first of the new wave of 'cheap and shite' cars that actually weren't that shite (certainly a world away from FSOs, Ladas and Skoda Estelles - only a few years out of date for a start!)

Perhaps unsurprisingly the Proton never sold. It looks like the tax will be cashed in, the battery that originally came from my pals transit will be reclaimed then all useful/salable spares will be removed before it gets canned. It does seem a shame that both grandads old Proti have ended life in this way after a long and faithful service record but meh, guess he got his monies worth.

Spares anyone? Sure you don't want it Morgan84?

Its worth more in bits and scrap weight unfortunately, but try your options as to if the engines are sought after - maybe not here, but export maybe ? A friend sold a ratty old Suzuki Carry which ended up in Morocco where they want mechanically bomb proof vehicles, but don't want anything fancy looking

I'll confess....I like Protons.......for the awfulness of them, however I am in no position at the moment to buy one, at least not until I clear the backlog of motors I have to fix ....

Pretty painful this innit. It looks like a cool old thing, I would like to get my mitts on it. Whens D-day for it? Got any interior shots?

I bought a Proton just like this one for £20 once. It was an auto and was actually quite nice! Sold it for £40 the same day. If I was stuck for a cheap no nonsense motor then i'd deffo look at one of these.

^^^

Those were the days, I haven't scored a working car for double figures for a fair while now.

This is a tad painful yes, sadly that's often par for the cause though. It's made slightly more awkward by the fact the car isn't mine and I don't have the final say of it's welfare when it comes to the erm, crunch! Grandpa has taken the tax disc from it so that will more than likely have been cashed in today, I have inquired as to a new sans tax price and will get interior shots too asap. As for D day I'm not sure, though I'm the man with the tow bar and frame so I guess I'll find out soon.
