Borked caliper brake pipe, due to eager but oafish mate. Where can I source such an item?

Is it just the pipe you need? Any decent garage should be able to knock you up a copper one.

I can knock you one up this pm for a drink if you can re-use the ends, not ideal, or have new ones?

Only in Hildenborough.

It's just normal brake pipe, find a decent parts shop and they should be able to get the right ends. Wilco in Wisbech sorted one out for me last year for under £5.

Agree, any half-decent garage or car part shop will rattle one of those off for you in minutes

Soak it overnight in some WD40 or similar, and then cut the pipe off close to the union to allow a good fitting socket ( 6 sided preferable ) to fit over. Put it on a bar,and give it some gentle tapping actions to undo it - a hard pull is more likely to ring it off,but a gentle shocking action is more likely to release it. Might be best supported in a vice,as we've all done the 'in both hands' part wrestling before !

Ta for the pointer Mr M but got proper union spanners here, ballsed up too many unions in my time! oh and need the bit of pipe to get it out the union should the union need to be re-used :D

Wire brush it and WD40 it couple times before Tuesday though Alex!

Ive seen 'molegripped' unions and nipples before - makes you wonder sometimes ! Yes,with union spanners, should hopefully be plain sailing
