BX Mk2 19TGD estate for spares/resto - £195

The fleet cull continues. The BX Mk2 has tax and MOT, but the tax is up at the end of the month. I'm not inclined to renew it at the moment, but if someone is after a cheap project or a mobile source of BX parts, this is the car for you!

It's strong mechanically, but needs a cambelt and a clutch. Engine could do with a new rocker cover gasket and a thermostat gasket as it's a bit incontinent. Has had two new front wheel bearings and a front caliper. It drives well apart from the juddery clutch.

Body is quite rotten in places, but actually quite good in others. The A posts are sound, as are the C posts. The B posts are a bit soft at the bottom and the sills may need some repair. The worst bit is the seriously rotten LH rear wing. You can't get replacements. The rear crossmember behind the bumper is very soft too. There is corrosion beneath both washer bottles (a very common spot) and the seams on the inner wings and boot floor are starting to blow. It would be a fairly serious project which is why I think it's realistically more likely to be a parts donor - though BX diesel estates are getting rarer now. Mainly because most have been driven into the ground and/or rusted away!
