My Mum's Corolla anyone?

Its a red Corolla CDX auto 5 door hatchback, first registered January 1996 with under 69,000 miles from new. It was resprayed a couple of years ago and since then has acquired the usual giffer bumper scrapes and a small dent on the rear corner, not very big and not in the normal parking mishap zone. Surprisingly however it looks quite smart and presentable. It hasn't been used for the best part of a year and the battery doesn't seem to hold it's charge so I will put a new one on when it gets a new MOT on Monday.

The cambelt was replaced when due, I can remember there was a bit of a kerfuffle when the new belt snapped about three days after being fitted with the usual arguments over who was going to pay. Toyota very generously offered to supply a new belt free of charge. I am not sure who ended up paying for the labour but I expect it was Dad.

It's currently on SORN but I can tax it for the new owner if wanted. I will take some snaps when I take it for the MOT and post them if anyone is interested. I am giving you guys first refusal, its location is near Tonbridge in Kent.

What do you reckon its worth? It has a handy green phone card in the door pocket :)

I know its a big ask, but any chance of some pics today.

My wifes Scenic auto has just thrown its cambelt, so on the lookout for a cheap and cheerful auto to tide her over. (Basically we need to advise garage tomorrow to start repairs, or me bring it home to have a go myself)

Any ideas how much you would be looking for with the 12 months ticket??

Cheers

Good news, the Corolla passed the MoT and will be sold with a brand new radiator because the old one shat itself during the emissions test. Also the mileage is under 63000 (it has only done 300 odd miles since the last MoT). Sorry, no pics yet - forgot to take my camera with me and the car is still at the garage because the rad won't be fixed until tomorrow.

Righto, got the car back this afternoon, gave it a wash and polished out some of the scratches. It is very RED. I didn't bother with the bumpers as they really need a spray. Also hoovered the interior.

rubbish photographer that I am you can hardly see the mileage which does say 62,841. Last serviced in April 2009 at 60,401 miles according to the record book. It may have been serviced since by 'the bloke up the road'. There is one wheel trim missing. Anyone got any? Tyres are budget apart from the spare which is a Pirelli.

Yes but I wonder how sellable it is because its not a 1.3 litre cheapo tax spec but a sporty 1.6 twin cam* I think but with an auto box aimed at gentry types. Sort of giffer/stealth.

Anyway it will go in the local paper if no one on here claims it.

As said, these are great cars, I really like mine, which is the same engine with a Manual box. Mine's done 40k more than this one and still drives like it's pretty much new! I think the Autos are a bit taller geared than the manuals so may do even better on fuel.

I paid £300 for mine, with T&T, but this should go for a bit more as it's a hatch, mine is the less practical saloon.
