Big Triumph progress

The Triumph 2000 I acquired from our very own Cheggars back in Feb is coming on nicely, I've changed the plugs, dist cap & rotor arm, fitted electronic ignition and a spin on oil filter conversion, a full Chris Witor stainless steel sports exhaust system, and stripped the carbs and given them a much needed clean, adjusted the floats and fitted new needles.

The result is a fantastic to drive big Triumph, and it now sounds more like a GT6 with the sports exhaust, but does encourage me to be rather heavy right footed when driving it 8) I've got the rocker cover and air filter box sent off for shot blasting and powder coating this week, and have also acquired an immaculate set of dark tan vinyl seats to replace the slightly tatty cloth ones currently in the car. I'm also going to replace the front coil springs in the next couple of weeks as they are a bit tired.

I'm very pleased with the car after wanting to own one of these for over 20 years......

Remember my dad had one of these in automatic form in the early eighties; thing I remember most about it was the incredibly light power steering. I'd never driven anything like it before.

Lovely, I was very torn to whether to get either a T2000 or a Dolomite when I was setting out....I chose the Dolomite route (still have one today) but one day I will travel the T2000 trek.

Finding replacement material for those bri-nylon seats is a real bugger (I know). The vinyl option is definitely the way to go.
