Bath & West Classic Car Show Sunday 23rd

Thought me and a mate would toddle along to this last weekend, was an OK show not helped by appalling weather, every time you got out of the car it started bucketing down again.

Some cars were outside and quite a few club stands under cover but not a huge variety. First interesting spot was this Moskvich (Moskvitch?) estate

Nice Renault 16, look better with black plate IMO

One for Pete M just in case he changes his mind

Used to have a 204 Coupe, here's a 304

Interesting Italian bodied Jowett Javelin

I think we'd retreated to the car for a rain sodden lunch break here

A break in the clouds and look what appeared - an even nicer Moskvich

Deserves another view

Nice bit of light between sun and rain

Off inside now, this was lovely

And this old Cedric seems to be at most car shows I go to

Early MG Maestro in wonderful colour

Don't think I've seen one of these Alfas before

Bloke I was chatting with at Vie en Blue last year said there were no roadworthy 1100 Visas left; seems he was talking bollox

And finally a rather pretty Jensen with appropriate plate

Great photos and a interesting mix of cars, but my favorite is the 405! They still look great don't they!

Certainly do in my eyes!

Nice one, I had seen a few photos from here on Flickr and thought it looked like a really good event. Didn't see any of the -

Interesting Italian bodied Jowett Javelin

-though, which is not actually a Javelin but a Jupiter, by Stabilimenti Farina, one of four cars to wear that coachwork.

There can't be many events where you'll find a pair of Moskies. Yellow/white one is an original UK car too I think!

I do like that Moskvitch you kicked this off with, and I wasn't disappointed by any of the rest.

You get some really, really interesting stuff at these Bath & West shows. Was chatting one year to a bloke with a Lagonda coupe a few years back. Very similar to this one.

A chap in a DB Aston pulled up next to him and, knowing the shared heritage, asked what engine was in it. The local Lagonda open chirped up "Ford Essex V6." Posh Aston owner beat a hasty retreat...

Turns out that he'd chucked the Essex in while he rebuilt the original engine. He still wanted to be able to drive the thing! Fair play.
