^^^I'll let a local citroen expert correct you on that!

Oh? Ah. Fourgonnette?

I'm wondering if a citroen expert will also say it is a plastic kit. I think it isn't a "proper" ripple bonnet, as it has indicators, not suicide doors and wide headlamp bar.

Narrowing the headlamp bar would make it look even lovelier.

I'd say it's 2cv6 Special.

Aye. Fake all the way. Still fun though. Personal plate helps mask the age!

Anorak moment. If it was a real one, it would be an AZU250. Ones with a longer van section are AK350s. The full-height "aerodynamics of a brick" vans are AKS400s. The Dyane based vans are Acadianes. They took over from the 2CV vans in about 1977.

Fourgonette is a generic term for small van.

Can you buy a kit to build one of these out of an ordinary 2CV?

You can. It's a name that doesn't translate well... http://www.villevans.co.uk/

Some people have had issues with the DVLA, because you need to chop off the rear chassis legs. This now counts as a major modification so some have ended up on Q plates.

The ripples are all wrong on the back for my liking though the entire rear section is plastic and so won't rust. You can optionally have an opening roof above the cab, which was never a feature when the vans were new - though it doesn't half improve ventilation!

Actually, they now do an AK350 conversion which looks pretty good, and uses the standard chassis I think, so no DVLA woes.

That sounds great to me, although I wouldnt want to have to slug it out with the DVLA admittedly

Just don't tell them then.
