Ok then,

Well I've mothballed the Delica again for the summer and I've just finished a fairly major overhaul of this little beaut, as detailed below.

It's the 4th xantia estate I've had, and certainly one of the better ones.

Before I owned the car, it'd had a clutch and plenty of servicing at the garage where I work, and it was an ideal car for me at a time where I had no real daily transport to speak of.

I've had the car since last June, put 4 decent tyres on it and driven it from Skegness to Porthmadoc and back, the ride is excellent.

Recent work: New parts: Timing belt, water pump, radiator, fresh coolant, 2 abs sensors and pads all round. I've also set the tracking to factory spec, replaced the dash bulbs and put a second hand airbag clock spring in.

The real trouble is, I'm just not at all attached to it, it serves a purpose yes, but I have little love for it, perhaps because of the amount of time I've spent working on it lately.

The bad points, well I've kurusted the scabs that were on the back arches, and welded a plate in the back door shut for it's mot (pictured), the aircon doesn't work, and it is of course, Citroen's finest matt white!

Here she is:

Please note that the mileage will go up as I'm still using the car daily. (currently 143k I think)

Edit: I'm now asking £450 for her.

A nice polishing session would make it look a smart car again

Sold! If you include the Dodge beavertail and drive them both to Wales. Thanks. I'll put the kettle on.

The dodge is a speclift and very very soggy.

I forgot to say the xantia had 12 months mot and 6 months tax.

Right I've a lead on a replacement for this now, I've just given it a service too so any takers or offers?

Put it on gumtree - it's the place to sell a cheap car.

You may have to drop the price a bit - I had a P reg estate like yours, it was immaculate( had good tyres, new water pump / cambelt etc.) and even the air con worked - I sold it to the citroen mechanic who looked after it for £400 - and this was in 2009.

You will find that whoever buys it will have had one before.

Yeah I know where I'd like an offer to fall, because scrap is very high just now, it isn't worth giving the car away too low, I can claw back probably £350 if scrapped, tax cashed in and a few good bits saved, I'm only getting rid because I've been offered a newer family car for a rock bottom price.

Ok any takers for £450, Mot until March, taxed to the end of the month.

Only thing to add is it could do with one of the rad fans replacing as the bearings in it are boned, I can supply one with it, but I'm chasing my arse around at the moment with so many cars so don't really have the time to attach it.

I can't believe no one wants this! I might have bought it if I hadn't acquired a dismal non turbo one.

These are GR8 4 VEG.

Hmmm, did I see you tanking up the M1/M6/M42 (forget which) Saturday am of the Bank Holiday weekend? I remember thinking how *nice* it was to see a shite-mobile that evidently worked for a living :D

(I was in the dusty green BX hatch, we played tag a couple times I think ;P)

We were on the M6 near Warrington in the morning and by the afternoon we were heading back across the M62, so it could well have been us!
