Another new tax to force older cars off the roads!!

This f*******govenment don't know what to tax next!!!! Again they are hitting the motorist. Just read this in Practical performance car magazine. This time it's a rust tax! The proposal is to tax the car on it's propensity for tin worm combined with the postcode to produce a CTI (corrosion tax index) For example a Rolls Royce Seraph living in central london will have a CTI of 1, the lowest bracket paying the least tax because of milder climate and galvanised shell but a 1968 Vauxhall Victor living near the coast will have a CTI of 9 or 10! A CTI of 8 or above will likely cost the owner in excess of £1000 a year. So now we are going to see even more classic cars disappear where owners a more likley to scrap them rather than pay these costs. Another variation of the scrappage scheme by the looks of it, forcing older cars of the road after they have tried to squeeze the last load of tax out of them. I think I will start a petition today!

It actually goes into more detail in the magazine artical. I was absolutely livid when I started to read it, especially as I drive an old Iveco daily!!!. Then as I read on, I realised I was reading the April edition of the magazine and the penny dropped!:lol::lol:

I hope they don't bring in a Half Arsed Repair Tax, or I really will be screwed

Can we not just tax the Volkswagen retards off the roads? That would work for me.

NC and wat: +1!

The trouble with tax-scare stories is, someone in government might read them and think "oh what a good idea" and before you know it, it actually happens! Only with inflated costs, obviously. Well done, Practical Performance Car. :(

Funny you should say that...Practical performance car also have their own forum and obviously the subject of this April fool joke came up as a thread and someone said they hope nobody from the government actually reads it because it may give them ideas :?
