WOW.

From the sympathetic and quite brilliant photos of all these crusty old hulks, it looks like this guy is a DIE-HARD shiteist.

Hes GOTTA sign up here!

That is all.

Well, that was an awesome browse.

The pictures of the car interiors, once comfortable and inviting and now rotting in the elements are really evocative.

Looks like the guy owns a Sunny and was in getting doors and panels for it, so hes definitely a shiteist!!

This is one of the guys who works at that yards photostream, quite depressing:

Over 1,768 photos of scrapped cars

I've been trying to get into that yard for a while now. Quite difficult to get hold of the guvnor there. The Scrawb fella is a "real character" to get a straight answer out of, he gives the impression that he gets of on the psuedo power trip he gets from playing hard to get and may or may not be able to help, depending on the wind direction.

I did rock up there once. I went in to find two geezers working away on some old tractor but said "No, there's nobody here" which was all a bit Sapphire and Steele.

As far as I can tell from Scrawb the yard was closed by an environmental body and had to dispose of its stock. This may be happening but at a glacial slow pace which is good for the short-term. Getting in though is proving frustratingly tough, allegedly prices for the stock are a bit lofty

If anyone has an in with the yard I'd be very grateful for the chance to go and grab some spares.

If it is the place in a location called Nurney in Co. Kildare and the owner is called Ger Reid, then these are historic photos.

It is completely cleared by now, thanks to the green nazis in Brussels.

However, it never was a 'public' place or business and the owner only gave very selected individuals access.

So just show up and browse was never possible.

The place was at least 1/2 mi x 1/2 mi and there were in excess of 3000 cars starting from the 60s.

Nothing 'special' whatsoever. Just Autoshite.

I got 'Scrawb' to send me some bits off a late 70's toyota hiace from that yard for my camper, pretty decent bloke really. I didnt have much money at the time or I would have bought alot more.
