scaryoldcortina Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 wtf??? I thought he meant adding location tags to his photos! I didn't realize there was a whole hobby to do with leaving suspicious packages around the place... on that note.... My suspicious packages record where they have been taken on a SD card....
trigger Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 For about 6 months we kept getting these random bunch of people pulling up outside our house and climbing in the trees opposite, one day we decided to ask a older couple what they was up too, it turned out they was doing this gps tagging game, you find the hidden items and win prizes. I decided they must be total fruit loops for doing this and went back to scanning car magazines again instead.
rover420 Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 I've got a garmin etrex that I used when I was geocaching, its a pretty good gps to start geocaching with and I think I paid 90 quid for it about a year or so ago. If your interested I'd be happy to let it go for 40 quid, i've still got the box etc. seems my pound sign doesnt work lol
Father Ted Posted February 18, 2012 Author Posted February 18, 2012 Which eTrex? Does it take downloads from the website?Im currently high bidder on this eTrexhttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270916903997? ... 500wt_1063But if I gets outbid I would be interested in yours. Found one today without GPS
rover420 Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 mines the previous version which doesnt have a usb port. I think it can be made to download from the web but from memory that would involve making your own cable up. Good luck with the one on ebay, mine will still be here if you dont get it.
Louise2cv Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 We inherited an old eTrex, if you can get one that you can download the co-ordinates to, then def do that. I hate entering the details Apparently the i-phone has a fairly good geocaching app. Must start doing some again when the weather picks up.
Father Ted Posted February 19, 2012 Author Posted February 19, 2012 Apparently the i-phone has a fairly good geocaching app.I think I am the only bloke in the universe who does not have an iPhone, nor any real interest in getting one.I hate iTunes with a passion reserved normally for kiddie fiddlers and refuse point blank to have anything to do with the wifes iPod touch.Really Really Really hate it.Besides iPhones melt if they get wet dont they?
Lord Sterling Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Kin 'ell. Matey-lad who's renting me my current so-called lock-ups does this geochaching thing. He showed me one of those small tubes that was hidden inside a fake snails-shell
Father Ted Posted February 20, 2012 Author Posted February 20, 2012 Micro magnetic found hidden underneath a metal railing behind a tree trunk on a railway bridge. Twas a bit of a sod.
