Nice work Mr B, didn't think it'd hang around long as it was lovely.

UPDATE.

Well, I went to collect the Bo11ox Croma today, so thought I would write up the events of the day, and the trials and tribulations of getting it home.

So, here goes:

08.00 - Overslept.

09.30 - Later leaving home by over an hour than planned. Friends gave me a lift the 160 miles up to Crewe to collect the Croma

12.30 - Uneventful journey. No holdups.

12.33 - Arrived a chez Bo11ox. Saw the Croma. Looked nice. Had coffee.

13.00 - Mr Bo11ox took Croma and me to his aladins cave to do a quick oil & filter change before i headed the 160 mils back to Wiltshire

14.00 - Departed Bo11ox cave in Croma

16.30 - Arrived home.

So, sorry to disappoint, but nothing to report!

As expected, Croma drove like a dream.

Thanks MrB..... I'm delighted with it!

Great stuff!!!! Find cheap old motor - remove from immediate danger (banger racing, weighbridge etc) - fix up - sell to someone who appreciates what it is and will prolong its existence. I love a happy ending!

Nah, a certain shonky 4-dr 'executive' saloon combining 2 turbnos with 1 carburettor

Croma continues to impress.

Christened Chesney (as in "the one and only").

Jobs so far:

Stripped dash to reconnect heater distribution control Not sure it had ever been connected as wiring loom had to be re-routed to gain access. Fabulous heating and ventilation system now.

Painted and realigned wipers - Thema has a pantograph drivers wiper to wipe right up to the pillar. Croma being the "cheap" cousin doesn't, so drivers wiper leaves a 3 inch unwiped gap.

Radio / CD fitted (yes a CD - how modern am I !!! All the others of my shite have cassettes!)

Jobs to do:

New gas struts for tailgate

Go on a hunt for period Fiat accessories - mudflaps, mats etc....

So, what a car! I'm loving it!

I am WELL jealous  I am probably going to get shot down in flames, but I think those 1970s-style number plates, wonderful as they are in their own right, look horribly out of place on a late-80s motor and if I was lucky enough to own it I would be ordering some dealerplates plastic jobs for it. Then again, I would have been re-registering it in Jersey anyway, and that isn't happening because I have zero spare funds and would have only been able to offer Bo11ox a straight swap on my Sierra. :)

Hope it gives you many miles of utter pleasure Mr Beta. :)
