bigstraight6 Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Seen in St.Ives in sunny Kernow (Cornwall as its more commonly known!) last week, a stunner of a shite brown DAF 33, I really can't recall the last time I saw one......
Heidel_Kakao Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 I like the way it has fins that look totally out of place. Is it me or does the rear styling remind anyone of the Triumph Herald?
Jason A Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 My grandad had a fair amount of shite in his time, and a DAF variomatic was one of them, in equally unappealing green.
Mr_Bo11ox Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 I remember readin' in PC recently that these things are well rapid up to about jogging pace, however above this speed they have 'fully laden 2cv'-rivalling performance. I am not a fan, though I would make an exception for a DAF/Volvo 66 estate or koop version which I understand have a more normal engine.

pompei Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 What happened to the Coupe that was formerly part of the AS fleet?
MrRegieRitmo Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 I'd love one of these. Good auction write up for this brochure!http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DAF-66-1300-Marathon-Not-Snickers-no-chocolate_W0QQitemZ360059773395QQihZ023QQcategoryZ18748QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

LML455K, as spotted by Mr. Laurel and Mr. Baz on their first visit to the bubble car museum.
Cavcraft Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 I reckon they rock. Used to be (possibly still there) all forlorn looking in someone's garden in Mid Wales I used to pass with my old driving job. Iirc they had some sort of band set up which acted as a drive and they used to break, usually with comedy timing or just at the wrong moment.
