I am worn out now!   Absolutely brilliant, one of the best threads I have seen on here....Its strange that although I have  never been to Liverpool I would feel more at home in those  pictures than I do where I live  now - where I grew up but what  is now an alien townscape to me.    You are right about 1963 looking like 1950 - people who weren't there sometimes  assume that the Beatles went on telly, somebody threw a switch and the world turned colour and we all drove two-tone Cortinas.    When I was growing up in the 60s most of the relatives I  used to visit were still living in the 1940s....
