Was over in Birmingham last weekend and finally got to picture the driveway I've been gawping at every time I've been over!

If this guy isn't on here, somebody REALLY needs to tell him about this site! What a beautiful collection of shite.

This was my ride for the few days I was there. I've missed this car. It was my first Vel Satis, my aunt bought it off me. A 3.0 Diesel V6 Auto that's just hit 105k and is starting to show the early signs of an electrical meltdown.

Brilliant! Not seen these. Where are these? I might go down and have a butchers. Been doing a bit of tat spotting today myself as well as visiting the local MG dealers in Longbridge and booking a test drive in the MG Magnette!

My mate Brad has recently sold both his Vel Satis and Avantime.

Next time your in Brum, drop me a PM and we'll have to meet up.

Will do!

It's on College Road in Kingstanding when you're heading from Perry Barr to Sutton Coldfield. Well worth a look, and there's an F reg Volvo 740 outside a house a bit further up :D

I saw Brad's cars on ebay, shame that. He had the Avantime at the first Vel Satis meet back in June and it was beautiful. Any idea how much that Vel Satis sold for in the end? I forgot to add it to my watch list. I remember him having a nightmare trying to get it going.

That new MG thing had me stop in my tracks today for a gawp... not a bad looking car!

Wow! I store a couple of my cars up in Sutton Coldfield and always use that road from Perry Barr to Sutton Coldfield through Kingstanding to go there, so will have a butchers!!!! There was a Black E64 BMW on the Kingstanding road that had been off the road for years, next door is a Burgandy F-reg Renault 25 under a cover:

I think the Vel Satis went for £750, it was a non-runner. I didnt see it on ebay though. I remember him having trouble getting it going too, I helped him get it going, eventually!

Fantastic! Can't believe you haven't spotted it before! I don't think there was anyone home when I took that so there could well be another one that was out touring at the time :P

Yep, Brad beat me to buying that Satis the first time it came up. He bought it with overheating problems and ended up spending a fortune on the thing only for it to fail yet again IIRC :(

Hey R9, is that your Aunt's house which the Vel Satis is parked next to? If so, I have 2 questions:

1). Does she make money off having a billboard on the side of the gaff?

2). What's in the garage? Please tell me it's a dead car - I always assume these types of 'untouched' garages have some gem behind the doors.

I dont get it. There are three Maestros on that drive that were, at some stage, "do upable" instead they are now probably fooked.

I get the idea that people love cars and try to save what they can but these could have been passed on ages ago to people that might have turned them into daily drivers.

Left outside like that has made them more likely weighing in fodder than brave restos or good for parts cars. :(

Cav - That's not my aunt's house, hers is the one to the right (out of the picture), so I'm afraid I can't help on your first point. However, there is and old car in that garage. An old Nova Swing which now has half of the garage on top of it and so will probably remain there for the next decade or so. Not a gem by any means but just proves that there's shite lurking everywhere!
