Scrapping a car with 12 months mot seems a bit exteme!

I don't think it was MOT'd, I think he would have tested it for a bit more money. Agree it's sad when useable stuff gets fragged but if there's no market then there's only one place left for stuff like this to go. China, on a boat. Possibly accompanied by a f*ck*ng Mondeo.

The insurance is ridiculous though, A-drain Fux want £500 more than I currently pay for the Volvo, so my idea of downsizing is out the window, as any saving on fuel is eaten up by the insurance

So it's up for sale, £395 with 12 months MOT!

It's a shame but needs must. Sad thing is my brother may well need a car like this in a month if his 626 dies come MoT time but neither I nor he have the money to buy the Escort :(

It was a case of needs must. room+tax(lackof)+etc

shame, I did feel proper guilty, having spent two full days cleaning the bugger. Needn't have bothered

Had two guys of RR turn up, one complained about it not having clean oil (after 25mins deliberation).......

My sis wanted it, but as mentioned the insurance is ridiculous...

Why would you do this? A car is up for scrap value with full MoT and you complain about the oil

Right, let me put this out there.

In the future* if any shiters in the north of England have a serious problem with storage for a few days, gimme a shout. Space-a-plenty here, safe and private. Hell, I'll A-frame it here if it means saving a perfectly serviceable vehicle from the frag.

( * provided it's not within the next couple months or so - I'm out of the country 'til Feb.)

They're off Retro Rides. Of course they're going to complain about the oil. 70% of the 'buyers' on the cars for sale board are penniless chancers.
