Come on guys....how much?

Thinking of selling my wife's S reg Mitsubishi galant 2.0 GLS auto.

It is in very good condition with a genuine 72 K on the clock. Has some history, Timing belt done at 55k (cost £200+), had a front calliper to get through MOT. Aircon still works (and is cold), as does original electric aerial. Has a couple of rust bubbles coming through on the rear arches, but nothing serious. To be fair I have seen 02 plate examples in worse condition. MOT till May 2012.

My wife is doing more miles now, and to be honest this is'nt the most economical vehicle in the world, so thinking about getting rid for something else.

If I do decide to sell how much should I pitch it at? Not interested in putting it on ebay - everybody assumes you are desperate.

Your advice is always appreciated.

Depending on how desperate you are to sell it I'd go with the Rev's suggestion if you're not in a hurry.

Big-ish engine, fairly unloved (because of people who only buy Fords, Vauxhalls, VAG etc) and spaz box all go aginst it I'm afriad.

I'd have thought if you got circa £450 for it it's actually be a bit of a result but right day, right buyer you may get more.

Last couple of cars for me ended up on gumtree and went pretty quickly. T25 I stuck on there sat morning by sat evening had the cash sitting on my table. Bloke drove 90 minutes, paid full price and drove it off. :D

See where you're coming from, but I think it's worth a premium because it's NOT a Mondeo/Vectra. I'm sure tidy old Jap stuff with history is worth a bit of dollar, and auto with air more so.

One for the local paper or Autotrader - if you're not desperate, bang it in at £995 and make a deal about the condition, aircon and history. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it didn't get a bite and sell.
