I friend of mine knowing i'm into old shite found an old copy of the YEP in his actic - it's the Friday motoring edition as such it's cramed full of ad's. Have this as a taster - more to follow

I'll take the 1978(T) Chrysler Hunter demo at £3250 , please.

 

Hang on a minute. According to my 1983 Glasses Guide, they were only £3736 new...and you'd have got a big discount on that.

 

Not much of a saving for 6000 miles. And there's bound to be a fag burn on the seat.

Catchy slogan. Didn't Soft Cell have a hit single with that title in the 1980s? :mrgreen:

Maybe Marc Almond and David Ball spotted that very advert when they were writing songs? They came from Leeds too. 8)

 

I'll take the 1974 (N) Datsun 120Y in the best colour they came in - Turquoise. 8) Bonus points for all 'dustbin lid' wheel trims being intact. :mrgreen:

I think that was normal back then. Cars retained their value for a lot longer, a gradual depreciation until it was scrap rather than a massive drop after 18 months.

 

You're right about the discount on a '78 Grunter though. Rigormortis had well and truly set into the old Arrow by that point.

Tates is just a bodyshop, they dealership is still there but it's just a storage pound now

sorry for some of the quality - i'm struggling to get some to show well, as you can see i'm messing with settings, lots of adverts for some practice though ;-)
