The pressure of trying to live the shite life to the max is taking its toll and something has got to give...And in this case its my lovely early GS.

Rust free it came back from the South of France only to be stuffed in a dry lock up and left, and left, and left...

I know I should be able to do it but I'm old and just can't get my head around hoe to post up pictues, so could one of you kind guy pop them on here...its just gone on ebay.

Thanks.

Here is my lovely early GS.

It pains me to sell it but its just sitting in a lock up doing nothing and I can't see me getting around to it in the near future...Just too many cars on the go at once! And I'm certainly not bidding on the fantastic Mark 1 Visa thats on at the moment..

It came back from France in 2005, under its own steam and drove very well, if a bit smoky. Since being in storage it has been started and taken around the block a few times, but has not been moved for about a year. So if you want to hear it run then come with a battery, its not got one, and some fresh petrol.

The body is super with no rust to speak of and no welding dTone or needed. The paint is another matter, it suffered in the sun and is flat and cracked. Being a Frech market car it escapes having a vinyl roof.

Its fitted with a rear window sun shade, the big full size plastic type.

Inside could do with a good clean and some love as the sun has again affected it,the nylon on the mustard coloured seats is scorched.

So what you have is a straight forward project, GS's not only look super cool but the flat 4 buzzes and sings to put a smile on your face.

Just remember it will need trailering away and paying for in cash on collection.

Registration is a formality, I have done it before and its simple, the French logbook is present.

The car is in Leicester and can be viewed by appointment.

Do I need to spell out a long list of terms and conditions? probably yes.... but lets all be grown up and buy the way we would like to sell

Any questions call me Stuart 07973 358877

Its for sale from day one with no reserve.

New pictures now added to the listing....Top old citroen shite and so little interest...Why do we bother?:roll:

I suspect it is lack of cash rather than lack of interest.

If I were you I'd mothball for another year.18 months ago these were in demand. It's the economy

I think the trailering aspect might be putting people off as well. What do you think are the chances of it making it back under its own steam to, oh I don't know, say Norwich for example? My usual main concerns about driving an old car that's been stood for a while are seized brakes and overheating - the latter being less of an issue with a GS.

I hate to be a prophet of doom, but I think the global economy is well and truly fucked and that next year will be particularly nasty. Maybe it'll start getting better in 3-4 years or so...

It's a beautiful thing. I have wanted a GS since I read Richard Bremner's diatribe about boring new cars in 1991 - but my storage situation is so tragic any chance of me buying it are torpedoed.

On the rare occasions GSs pop up on eBay, the flurry of bids normally takes place in the last ten minutes of the auction. I've watched most of the recent ones, including that maniac with the white Break whose auction seemed to have the express purpose of pissing off as many CCC members as humanly possible.

If I could give it a home, I would, but I'm not prepared to go to war with the other people down on the farm, not least until my .303 comes back from the armoury. :D

He has had a couple of expressions of interest judging by the questions at the bottom of his listing. I would absolutely love this to go with my 14 but unless the Allegro makes mega money then it is a no-no! Plus I have another Maxi lined up and don't think I could handle three cars!

Can't handle 3 cars!!! when I got to 15 I knew I needed help...

Its gone to a big Citroen fan down in the smoke, so it should see some love soon...

Did this sell or was it the usual eBay timewaste? Someone I know is making rumblings about old Citroen ownership...

Strange as it may be but it's all is going very well...Meeting the transport man at the garage tomorrow morning and then its going straight to a specialist in Yorkshire for some restoration...Job done.

Glad to hear it's gone to a good home. I knew you'd be pleasantly surprised with how the auction picked up :D

When the time's right, I will own a GS of some description.
