what a fantastic lugger, any interest in a maestro clubman diesel of the same age?

Wow I didnt know they were still making Pinto engines in 1994, has it got a carb or injection?

Weber carb

I thought Carbs were outlawed by '92/J plate? Surely this should have injection and a cat?

Not doubting you fella.

Infact, I was pondering if the laws were actually a little softer for comercials.

I think it was K reg cause I know my 900 turbos could have the cats removed and they were J reg. Still easily passed emissions.

Its an electronic carb & ignition with an ecu.Same as late sierras

30/34DFTH 13ADI i think

Name is Dave btw.

Innocenti still has a carb, and that's on an L. Passes the cat emissions test with flying colours every year. ISTR Ladas had carbs even later than that.

Oh yeah, and those late Pinto-engined Transits go pretty well - not quite as quick as the later twin cams, but not far off. I think they were in a slightly higher state of tune than the low-compression lumps in the earlier vans. GR9 4 LEZ too being a petrol engine.

High comp engine as in sierra.

Fine for LEZ even with diesel as registered as MPV

Changed my name from fahl to daveb47 btw

Cats was '92 for cars, '95 for commercials. You could also get L reg 1.4 CVH escort vans with a VV carb...
