Anyone fancy a Volvo 240?

A very friendly scrap yard owner near to me has taken in a very presentable 119,000k Volvo 240GL of 1988 vintage, and is looking to sell as it's far too good to scrap. Says apart from driving a bit like a boat (didn't they all?) it's very tidy, also comes with a year's MOT. Seems chappie got MOT and then for some reason chopped it in for a later Volvo. I've seen the car and apart from lacquer fading on the front wing and a hole where the ariel went it looked good to me. Also came with a remarkable contoured velour cover for the dashboard, a genuine Volvo assessory. Extremely clean under the bonnet. He wants £250 for it, anyone interested PM me and I'll pass on the number. (Can't guarantee it's still there as I took pictures on Friday and have been away since then.)

looka very tidy - aerial is an easy fix OEM parts still avaliable in Volvo Dealers. The other thing to note is that the headlights are very clear - 240's over time the headlights corrode and can't be polished - your looking at about £100 to change them...you can tell when they are fooked cos the headlights look a bit....brown....but these are clear which means the car may well have been garaged for much of its life OR the headlights have been done...Carlo- tell im that if he doesn't shift it right in August I'll take it off him in September!

Wow, what a great looking wedge of Sweden. Pity I'm nowhere near it, otherwise I'd have it in a shot. I've had a 440, 740 and 940... 240 is next on the list
