FOR SALE - 1995 Astra Turbo Diesel

Hi guys

 

As I've now bought the Allegro, this is surplus to requirements and I want to move it on before the tax runs out at the end of the month.

 

It's MOTd til the 3rd of August.

 

I've had the Astra since last September and covered about 4000 miles in that time with no problems. It's very economical and has been very reliable in the time I've had it. Has power steering, electric front windows, electric mirrors, front fog lights etc...

 

The main faults are that the radio doesn't work (needs the code putting in but one of the buttons that you need for putting the code in is broken) and a fanbelt pulley needs replacing (I have a replacement and was quoted £40 by a garage to fit).

 

Also there are usual small dents, scrapes and rust spots but nothing too significant. The rear end of the drivers' side sill has been welded at some point. One wheel trim is missing.

 

It's done nearly 115,000 miles, and I'll be on holiday from tomorrow until next Saturday, using it to drive 1200 miles up to Scotland and back. I'll need it gone ASAP after that.

 

It also features in the famous Stondon car park Autoshite group photo so is therefore worth loads and is an essential item for anyone wishing to recreate that scene.

It probably won't be as clean as in these pictures.

 

 

 

 

I'm in East Sussex (Brighton / Lewes). I could deliver it somewhere for the price of diesel and a train ticket home but bear in mind that I work 9-5 Monday-Friday and I'd have to fit it round that.

Probably a bit far and I have too much shite as it is, but what engine is in this please, Isuzu or Slow Blow?

I think it's Isuzu but TBH I'm not actually sure, how do you tell?

 

It's the one that has 'TURBO' in big letters on it, if that helps...

If the font for the 'turbo' logo on the engine looks like a sort of 1980's computer style then it's the much favoured, veg oil friendly Isuzu.

I've just been to Scotland and back in this, over 1500 miles in a week. It ran well with no problems.

 

I'll be a bit sad to see it go now, but I can't keep everything!
