Fellow Autoshiters,

I am putting my little Pug 306 Diesel up for sale as I'm getting bored and I want a change  .

It's a 1997 early phase 2 1.9 TD (XUD engine) - done 139k and has tax and M.o.T until October. Drives very well and gives excellent fuel economy, well in the late 40 MPG area. Has had a recent new radiator too!

What else to say about it? starts, stops and goes along great. The only bad points it has is that there is a tiny dribbly diesel leak coming from the black blanking plug cap on the front (I think someone's had a play at tuning it up sometime, I think it's been detuned back to normal though). I have tried to patch it up best I can, but I think it would need a new tamper-proof plug fitted.

Air-con needs regassing and the rev counter has a mind of it's own. Has the usual scrapes and scratches you would expect for a 15 year old motor but if you want cheap motoring then you can't go wrong. It's passed every M.o.T for five years with only very very minor advisories, the last one was for a crack in the number plate!

If the little diesel leak was fixed then it would be a cracking motor, I must stress that it doesn't affect the way it drives but it would need seeing to soon-ish.

If I haven't put you off then I'm looking for somewhere around the £400 mark which I think is reasonable for one of these...OR....if you have something you would like to swap then I'd be interested. Something like a 1.2 Corsa or similar. Even a Saxo.

PM me if you are interested!

Pictchas......

That looks like a bargain. Out of interest where in the country are you?

I'm the other end of the country to you NC. I'm in Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk....

You're bored of a pleasant car and want to exchange it for one of the most miserable. Something doesn't add up.

This is the kind of thing I need for my next car (although maybe the n/a for added misery). Suffolk is too far away though

No probs NC, thanks for the interest anyway. Hopefully I'll be able to punt it on somewhere....

I doubt you'll have much trouble selling that thanks to the OMG MPG effect
