Ethanol in petrol - are we all DOOMED?

Yeah, that'll cause problems for sure. I think additives are currently being tested by the Feds to combat the problems ethanol causes - they do sometimes do useful things you know!

Annoys me as we'll probably discover that yet more rainforest is being chopped down to make way for farming of oily plants to generate this 'green' fuel. I suspect that polar bears will not be grateful...

It's been used in Brazil for yonks (I think at least since the late 70s), so there's a decent likelihood that most non-ancient shite will not really have to suffer much.

I agree with DW, tho. This "environmental" bollocks is just window-dressing and a way to spend public money on projects whose only real result is lining the pockets of some corporate mates of whoever's in charge.

I like how the oil companies make a big deal about bio fuel and imply they're at the forefront of using them. What a crock of old bollocks, people have been using waste veg oil for years.

Ps: Tune in to 'More 4' at 10.00pm tonight to see how popular one of the big players are in Ireland.

I'm not sure, but I think either Ethanol or something similar (Butanol?) used in Thailand as well. It's 91 RON (and a few baht more expensive than 95).
