I did see that BMW, but IIRC it was far darn sarf. Wasn't planning to mention it here yet because there are no pix of the object of desire(look out for a thread tomorrow), but I shall just reveal that today I acquired the ultimate LPG barge in a process smooth enough to defy all belief- I was pinching myself to see whether I was awake.

Come to think of it, it's still only 21:30, so I'll go to fill up with some calor goodness and come back with a couple of pics, too.

Did you back out of the S40?

Yes! All will be revealed soon.

Good to see you caved in to forum peer pressure! :)

Isn't it an absolute disaster trying to re-register Eyetie stuff, or am I mistaken? Anyone know, because that BMW could be a laugh.

I wouldn't have thought it being an issue. When it comes to importing stuff, the UK is one of the most laid-back places in the entire EU.

Well, as you might have noticed, I never really wanted that car anyway. When the trader suggested that we "go halves" on the LPG service he had neglected to do for 5 years (the car had allegedly been owned by a family friend of his, and he had been arranging all the maintenance), I told him that the deal is cancelled (yes, Pete, I know, missing an autogas service or two is hardly the end of the world, but, at that price, he was just taking the p!ss). I did tell him to keep 100 quid from the 200 I'd given as deposit in order to avoid having to "unfortunately involve trading standards and the small claims court", but he's probably spent a bit more on getting the timing belt done so we both got away with a small loss.

Right, new thread is in the making.

I'd just take a 'bollocks to it' attitude, MOT and insure it and do something about it when the filth start making noises.
