Renault18 Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Given a bit "banter" on here just recently, I thought maybe a nice picture or two would be the order of the day. You'll need sunglasses for this one though. . . and depending on your viewpoint, a proper version of the above The window was open and the keys were in this. . . Y'all have a nice day now.
forddeliveryboy Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 The window was open and the keys were in this. . . That's one of my definitions of a civilized society - you can leave your car unlocked and with the keys in, and it'll be left untouched for as long as it's there. Anywhere you can do that is probably a very decent place to live and work.
wuvvum Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 and depending on your viewpoint, a proper version of the aboveOi!
Renault18 Posted May 22, 2011 Author Posted May 22, 2011 Oi! Ha ha - I used to own the ex-John Henderson R6L, so I love them too! (God knows why I sold it) This particular 6 was really nice, owners handbook and Renault bulbkit inside. I'd have loved to have brought both it and the 4 back with me.
Mr Lobster Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 and depending on your viewpoint, a proper version of the aboveOi! I was having a bit of a look at R6s before I found my red R4. Mrs_L saw what looked like a really nice R6 in gree on Spanish eBay. Can't remember how much but it wasn't dear.
Luxobarges_Are_Us Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 The Renault 6- now that's a proper towing vehicle!
Renault18 Posted May 22, 2011 Author Posted May 22, 2011 The Renault 6- now that's a proper towing vehicle! But this is a 6TL with a massive 1108cc engine! Surely one of the countless French R4 TLs (which had the 748cc engine) would make a much better towing machine! Christ knows why so many R4s in France have a towbar. Mr Lobster - Was your GTL expensive? - Only asking for when you come to sell
Mr Lobster Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Mr Lobster - Was your GTL expensive? - Only asking for when you come to sell I suppose I'd say it was about the going rate for a decent R4 these days. Which is more than I would expect to pay for an old Renault really but it does seem that finding a good R4 for less than £1500 is not at all easy. It'll be For Sale when I come back from France in July though so I'll let you know. Might be interested in a swap for something old and French though
RENOMAD Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Sorry to hidgjack here Richard but these are some 4's that I took pictures of recently. The first was on the Ferry back to Ireland last year.3 young French people were coming over here on holidays. The other examples are from shows recently
Renault18 Posted May 22, 2011 Author Posted May 22, 2011 That red 4TL . . . has just caused a trouser accident
Jon Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 I posted this article from my local paper up in the grin thread a week or so ago but it may have been missed during the period of unrest, so here it is again: It's RHD so is this some sort of record for the oldest one around? Have seen it being driven about locally, not by the 100 year old lady but one of her relatives I presume. He's also got it bad though as a few months ago he had 3 (!) Renault 11s (one ex-UK), a Dyane and various Triump Dolomite/FWD/Toledo models. Really should go and say hello.
RENOMAD Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 That red 4TL . . . has just caused a trouser accident Its owned by Maurice Roddy who is well know in Renault Circles over here as well as in the Renault Owners club..He also owns the R10 beside it and an as new R16tx with only a few thousand miles on it and numerous others.
