Quick one for you...

 

My Sherpa van gets through near side rear indicator bulbs like my Granny got through pies....

 

The bulbs don't blow - rather the contact nipple seems to get destroyed....has anyone experienced this and may have an idea of the cause - the other bulbs n the circuit and the flasher relay are all fine.

solder melting?

 

i had a similar problem with a jap car a few years back, changed the bulb holders and the problem disappears

My best guess would be a weak centre contact causing resistance and heat build up. Either clean it if its grubby or see if you can tweak it outward.

Or you could solder a bigger blob onto the bulb, but that sounds like a ballache.
