The X1/9 is home, towed by my trusty and rusty Vauxhall Astra 1600. Its been untouched since 2005.Brakes were all seized, and the pads crumbled away when the calipers were removed. On getting it home I checked the cambelt and oil, put a fresh battery in, disconnected the coil and turned it over. Good oil pressure and sounded OK. I went to the petrol station and got a gallon of V powah. Poured it in, connected the coil and it started right up :D Its a bit lumpy and needs an oil change and a fuel system flush, but I can't believe it was so easy.

I've always had a soft spot for those, should make a nice little summer runabout.

Is that one of the run-out models with all the extras? It does look good (and small) I take it that it's been under cover since 2005 as there was still enough to put on the trailer.

Its an 85- the last of them were made in 1989, and only came in metallic red or blue- called Gran Finale and usually came with a rear spoiler and biodegradeable seats. These seem to be the rustiest of the lot. It was kept in a garage, but the garage was brick, and damp. Doesn't seem to have affected it though! They really don't rust as bad as is made out.
