Escort mk1 Calipers

Guys i have standard type 14 calipers on Mk 1 escort struts which have 219mm discs which are crap, what discs and calipers can i fit without changing the strutts

i think volvo 240 4-pot calipers fit (from memory)

 

but loads of adapter kits available to take later model ford calipers / discs

Mondeo calipers are reckoned to be a good idea on 'em.

 

I will investigate further when I get bored of my mk2 being a 1300.

The mondeo calipers take machining of the hubs to fit the discs and a good idea with em is to fit a bigger servo as well. You can fit the princess 4 pot calipers with capri 2.8i discs straight on

Princess calipers in decent nick are a lot more expensive than Mondeo calipers... machining is cheeeeeeap!

Yeah but if remember rightly mondy calipers wont go under 13s

 

If you wanna have machining and bigger wheels, with adapters you can fit brembo 4pots from focus rs and have 300mm discs from if i remember right a fiat coupe turbo redrilled to suit thatll stop it! Hi spec do kits that fit under 13s at reasonable prices
