thats no really how it works, we have trade cars like that 306 that will have to go round the block a few times before being bought and its always sold at below cap average, the audi isnt a performance car ! plenty of aftermarket parts available just like any other car .

Stuff like that doesn't usually go on auctions here, it goes directly to other traders. I just thought with the new car industry struggling and all that, your lot would try to make money on anything going, stick it round the corner with a price on it or whatever.

don't think so,but down in the not so sexy south, you certainly pay too much for motors, maybe thats why we can all buy nice shiny cars at uncle arnies.

Nice shiney ex rental cars certainly :D

Anyway, as regards the 306, it seems ridiculous that the trade consider it worth bugger all. Its a 12 year old car that appears fairly tidy that should give a good few more years service yet. Not that I blame the trade for that, more our throwaway society that considers a 12 year old car to be worthless, scrap fodder.

The two questions (that you must answer yes) to find out if its gonna be sought after in 10 years:

Is it a sporty model?

Does it have a blue oval badge?

The truth is there isnt alot of interest in old Peugeots and I dont think a 306 will ever be worth much, however if you want to keep it for yourself in 10 years time then yes store it but to sell on for a good profit you'd be better off storing a Ford, BMW or Rover of the same condition/age. I'm not a fan of the 306 but hope to see the odd one at a car show in 2028.

I wouldn't complain too much, it makes decent cars cheap for people not bothered about the latest numberplates, integrated iPod adapters, wanky meaningless trim levels, greenwash, etc.
