New shite aquired - 1990 Ford Escort 1.3 L

Not sure what the plan is for it yet, but I do like to save these old beasts as you know.

 

It was a local car, taxed until the end of March and MOTd until late july. First of all when I have time, It needs and a bit of a valet and tidy. It also needs a few jobs small doing but im quite suprised how solid it looks. The only real rot is on the drivers door - a sprayed replacement door by the looks of it, as the paint is a flaking a bit and shows a beige kind of colour underneath.

 

anyway, here she is - (apologies for the poor picture quality, my camera phone is on its last legs)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

..and its first 'mod' - an autoshite sticker.

 

 

 

 

also, another plus is that my Cabriolet flew through its MOT yesterday as well.

Nice save there Retro. Seems to be a lot of love for the mk4 Escort going around at the moment. I quite like them too, though if I was in the market for early 90s small Ford, I'd be after a very early mk3 Fiesta.

 

Isnt this model supposed to have Black bumpers? I reckon some period alloys or wheels trims would look a bit better.

Where do you get the stickers?

 

A panini style autoshite album, now that would be something. Not sure if they ever did car sticker albums, only ones I can remember collecting were football and Transformers.

A shite sticker album would be great. I assume that premier league chod like tagoras and fsos would be the silvers...

Escort looks alright, needs black bumpers though. And doglegs. It is the law.

I had one, and whilst it was miserable, it was not as miserable as I had expected. If you see what I mean...

The G/H reg MKIVs didnt rust as bad as the D/E reg ones. 86/87 D reg Fords were notorious for rust.
