Talbot Tagoras in Stevenage

If anyone's in the Stevenage area today, and you know where the big new Mercedes Benz garage is (Gunnels Wood Road), check out the car park round the back. Right at the front of the silver and black sea of German cars, a pristine, white, W reg Talbot Tagora! Likely to be there all day at least. I pass this place every day, and since it's recent opening they've ahd all sorts of classics round the back, DB6, Charger, Lancia Monte Carlo, etc, usually one is centrepiece in the showroom. Are they really going to be putting a Tagora in it? :P Where the arrow is:http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=522922&y=223885&z=1&sv=522922,223885&st=4&ar=Y&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srfHave taken photo, will upload tonight. What a start to the week 8)

Used to be, but now about 80 miles away! :( Is it for sale?

Posted

Can't tell yet, don't know if it's a member of staff's car or a potential car for sale, but the DB6 they had in last week was definitely for sale (£80k with 12 months warranty etc, concours) so there is a good chance. Will go and investigate today..... and if so will ask for a test drive. God I think I'd actually sh1t myself.

Mind you if it's being treated as a pristine pampered classic it probably won't be cheap!

Blimey! Where are they all coming from?Thats four is as many weeks. The two Ebay ones, the one in aleds thread, and now this one..Either their more common than we thought, or they are pretty much all the remaining ones in the UK...

EL if you're floating about round that way, how about checking if that R14 is still there in Hitchin.....http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=519626&y=230311&z=1&sv=woolgrove+road&st=6&tl=Woolgrove+Road,+Hitchin,+Hertfordshire,+SG4&searchp=newsearch.srf&mapp=newmap.srfIt's about level with between the railway line & where that High Dane road meets Woolgrove road. Should be sat mouldering away in a driveway.

Bit tricky at the moment Regie as I'm confined to cycling and trains at the moment. Hope to get the Audi back on the road soon so will go and check it out then. Sounds like it won't have been driven away

Amazing to see this blundering white elephant of car in its natural habitat. I recall the interior plastics having the quality of a christmas cracker toy - wonderful. wonderful.

Ooh, a nice Lotus Elite. Have you got more pics of that... WHO CARES! Tagora!!!

Posted

Awww it's blumming gone. Did manage to speak to the security guard about it though. It apparently belongs to one of the members of staff, it's one of the cars in his rather large classics collection. Not for sale.So there's a good chance it will be back some time soon and I'll get better pics, now have a new camera about my person at all times. Wonder what else will show up in weeks to come? As I mentioned, the DB6 and a Bobby Ewing Merc have both appeared fior sale in the showroom, but a turquoise Lancia Monte Carlo, pre-A reg Mini (ie Austin 7) and a black jazzed-up Santa Pod stylee Dodge Charger have appeared in a simar area of the car park (away from the new Mercs), probably from this guy's collection, so who knows! :P

Bloke on a Dutch forum said he was offered this Tagora for 4000 pounds some six months ago. Owner had about 40 Simcas and Talbots (3 Tags) - sound familiar?

Posted

It must have been moved. I was over there at 7 this morning and the Tagora was nowhere to be seen!

It's a very early one on a W-reg. Not keen on the vinyl roof at all but it looks in mint condition. 8)8)8)

What a stunner! It's amazing somebody would keep a Tagora in that condition, let alone a boggo-spec one.
