Massive clearout

I'm elated about the shed. I've got what I wanted- at minimal expense.Should start within a week or two, completed around Xmas/New Year.

It enables secure storage for the farm equip 'downstairs', (-now necessary as theTurf contract is collapsing; so back to subbed 'farming). My (other) hobby at ground level and cars/bikes safely on the top floor. Possibly a mezz, rightat the top (funds permitting)

Damn close to ideal.

Wow, sounds great - didn't know you were a farmer? Am wondering about the other hobby that needs a whole floor... Large scale scrapbooking perhaps?

Ahh, Austin Gypsy. I always find cars named after an entire people, tribe, or race to be fascinating.

How does it get through the focus group or the VP of Marketing, I always wonder?

Did such things exist in 1958?

No Michiel-I'm no farmer.Just a salesman.I barely know a sugar beet from a turnip

I managed to buy a farm in the early 90's when land prices here collapsed. Had to hock virtually everything I had-and the mortgage is monstrous, even today..

I have to rent the onsite bungalow out, had to sell 2 old barns (for housing), have to rent the fields to hold it all

together.

Cant afford to live there...

BUT I do get half the sheds-and it will be mine-one day.

Building will house farm equipment in the bottom, (freeingupanother shedfor later development) small aircraft at groundlevel, cars at the top.

By a relatively small amount of earthworking we can get 2 seperate entrances atvarying ground level- cars elevated for safety.

Aerobatics became my other interest when I nearly killed myself on a Honda Blackbird. I fund it 100% by importing small planes,(predominantly Pipers) & selling shares.Just about free flying.

I believe theres a significant gap in the market for secure light aircraft storage -so I'm dipping my toe. Planes will only be able to come in/out on specific days, but I hope I'll do well with winter storage @ break even in summer..

Thats the plan-anyway

^thanks^

Wow, aircraft as well, nice I guess - I've only been in big ones. Taking off and landing impressive, the rest... mwah.

Small planes are a bit of a different ballgame. For one thing you never really get high enough that you can't see the scenery, so the flight is far more interesting. For another thing you get bumped around a lot more, it's a lot noisier and you've only got one engine, so if that conks out for whatever reason you're coming down. Back in the days when I had a bit of spare cash I did some flying lessons in a Piper Tomahawk - it were a right laugh. Couldn't do proper aerobatics in it as it wasn't certified but did some wingovers and the like and I can see the appeal.

Yep-time to sort some.

2 Fiats (125 &130tc) and 2 Alfas (sud & alfetta) were stored side by side.

Fiats drove out(-Strada would MOT now), Alfas have completely died. None were' wet' -just bizarre.

You've missed the 2300 Estate-that'll need a bit more than a polish!

Mates Dutton is on RR-then Ebay-then bridge.

Realism dicstates that more will get sold-once cleaned/evaluated.

Its running great -rear box is barely blowing (I remembered it as much worse).Sounds weldable

Driven it around the yard -all seems OK.Moved itnextdoor to short temr storage without issue.

EXCEPT-its arse has gone way up, front staying resolutely down. Went onto the BXforum and they said seized pivots-so I'll haul a 'normous jack over ,get it in the air and free it off. Bought 2 new Citroen spheres to fit front end once thats done.

Cleaned up well -no visible grot-but I've yet to get under. Got to MOT it to get the plate off -unless you want it ''as is' - 'with an undertaking to sort/return the plate?
