Holy muthafuckin crapoly...

That's badass!

But somehow the knowledge that it's just got a four-banger under the bonnet would let it down for me... I think I'd rather get me a real Bel Air or Eldorado instead.

Surely a FWD pickup with self levelling suspension is better than an RWD one without.

Yeah, because that makes sense, taking a four-door FWD car and turning it into a pickup...

Now to be fair the Xantia pick up idea saved that car from scrap. It had roof damage so instead of scrapping a good running useable vehicle - it was converted to the pick up style vehicle.

Nope, better rear-end traction in RWD w/o self-levelling, not to mention the fact that FWD automatically sucks (torque steer, endless understeer, harder to work on). Plus I think that M5 ute HAS got self-levelling (from the 5 Touring) to save space. Plus, if there's no load in the back, plus 450bhp and a V8 pressing over the front wheels, you'll get less understeer and more of this:

Meh. Don't like Xantias anyway. At least not beat-up ones. It ought at least be done smarter than that (and not on a diesel model either).

I saw a Rat-look Xantia pickup conversion in Leicester a few weeks ago. Wouldn't be suprised if its the same owner.
