Quick electrical question for a simpleton please!

Right, I hate automotive electrics. Simple stuff is fine but this relatively simple one I'm stuck on, so I thought it best to ask the experts...

I'm fitting a pair of spotlights to the Sprinter. All seems ok until we get to the part ' connect the blue wire to the main beam circuit' - and thats where I'm stuck. Can I connect the connector to the other connector on the back of the existing main beam unit in the headlight as there does appear to be a spare connection (pictured) - and if so can it go to either headlight?

Sorry for the simpleton-ness. Its years since I fitted spotlights to a car and I can't for the life of me remember how I achieved this!

Thanks in advance!

I'm assuming that you are using some sort of pre wired relay. If you are then connecting into the hi beam circuit will be fine, as it only energises the relay.

There won't be a spare terminal so you will have to tap into the circuit.

If you are not using a relay, go and buy one! :)

Yeh I'm using a pre wired relay. If I'll have to tap into the existing wiring thats where I'm a bit stuck as its all multiplag connections and the like :(

The pic looks like a single terminal H1 bulb. In which case the grey wire going to the terminal in the centre of the bulb is the one to connect to.

Ideally you would strip a small piece of insulation, tin and solder a wire to it and heat shrink the join.

Failing that you could use *shudders in horror* a scotchlok.

Excellent, thank you!

Edit - fitted and working! Only trouble is, I'm not sure they look right or if I like them :?
