Very '90s Rover-esque styling about this car, especially at the rear. I suppose that's not surprising given their links with Honda around that time. It's a shame a Rover or, even better, MG version of this wasn't made.

Then onto this (a bit Vectra C-like at the front, I always thought)

Though, over time, this one's grown on me. I quite like it now.

Both of which are gorgeous in my opinion. So Honda replaced it with this...

I don't think the Scorpio caused Ford to exit the large executive saloon sector, it was down to the fact that bread and butter car makers cant attract the desire of punters at that price range of the market. Citroën and Renault still like to have a bash every now and then, but it'll be a unlikely that Ford, Vauxhall/Opel, Fiat will try challenging the big German 3 anytime soon.

This is very true, however with BMW 3 Series outselling Ford Mondeos, Audi now being a common site on the road also small versions of Audi being launched and Mercs not being what they were I do think that the company execs who used to favor these cars will now start looking elsewhere to be different, in afew years time when the cab ranks are bursting with 3 series BMW's they will no longer have the exclusive appeal......

and if Ed Milliband decides to target 3 Series Man in the launch of New New Labour will the gin drinking golf playing Tories make a mad dash towards the blue oval?
